Job Summary: The Group Financial Manager will oversee the financial activities of the mining company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial planning, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage the financial health of the organization and support its growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the company's liquidity.
- Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and investment opportunities.
Cost Management:
- Oversee cost control and cost reduction initiatives.
- Analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving measures across the organization.
Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Develop long-term financial strategies to support the companys growth and profitability.
- Provide financial input for strategic decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital projects, and other investments.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Masters degree or MBA preferred.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of mining industry financial practices and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
