Job Summary: The Group Financial Manager will oversee the financial activities of the mining company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial planning, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage the financial health of the organization and support its growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the company's liquidity.
- Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and investment opportunities.
Cost Management:
- Oversee cost control and cost reduction initiatives.
- Analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving measures across the organization.
Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Develop long-term financial strategies to support the companys growth and profitability.
- Provide financial input for strategic decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital projects, and other investments.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets.
- Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate financial performance and strategic initiatives to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
Technology and Systems:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and technologies.
- Ensure the financial systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Masters degree or MBA preferred.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the mining industry.
Strong knowledge of mining industry financial practices and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
