Reference: DBN000790-AD-2Our client is a subsidiary business to a Durban based Export Company and is based in the Seychelles. They are an importer and leading distributor of fresh, frozen, and FMCG products into the Seychelles hospitality and retail marketplace, with operations spanning across the three largest islands.They are looking for a energetic and self-motivated professional to join and lead our team of 10 dedicated employees based in the Seychelles and 3 employees based in South Africa. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in warehousing and distribution, preferably in a retail or HORECA sales environment. This position is based in Seychelles and reports to the Seychelles General Manager with a dotted line reporting to the parent company Financial Director and Finance Executive. The candidate must have prior experience in managing a finance team. Ideally experience in dealing with cultures outside of South Africa would be preferable. The ideal candidate must be driven, decisive, able to multitask and be effective and efficient.Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the company's goals and objectives. Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the company's financial performance. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with the Seychelles and South African accounting standards. Provide regular financial updates to the General Manager and Managing Director. Budget Management: Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and monitor budgetary performance. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Cash Flow Management: Manage and optimize the company's cash flow to meet operational needs. Implement effective cash management strategies and ensure liquidity. Manage and control working capital. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Monitor compliance within the Seychelles financial regulations and legislation. Financial Controls: Establish and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets. Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and mentoring. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department. Ad Hoc Analysis and Projects: Undertake special financial analysis projects as required by the executive team. Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. Qualifications and experience: Professional Accounting designation, preferably a Chartered Accountant At least 15 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior role In depth understanding of stock management and costing In depth understanding of Accounting systems and internal controls Experience working with Syspro and Quickbooks Skills: Exceptional Accounting skills Excellent Excel skills Strong written and oral communication skills Good command of the English language Characteristics: Strong Financial leader Commercial and operational minded Tolerant Firm but fair Team Player Positive Attention to detail Analytical Resilient Astute Monthly Apply Now
