Responsible for overseeing and directing: 5 payrolls, time-and-attendance processes; training and development, recruitment, discipline, employment relations management, performance management, reporting and managing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labour laws and statutory submissions. Divisions: Packaging Cartons Packaging Bags Security Printing Group Services SG Displays Incumbents reporting to Group HR Manager: Group HR Practitioner Time & Attendance Controller x 2 Group HR Administrator Group Training Officer HR Generalist Receptionist HR Intern Duties & Responsibilities: Payroll/Time & Attendance: Oversee and manage payroll and time-and-attendance (clockings) procedures and processes: Weekly; Monthly; Annually (Year-to-date: Financial Year-End; Tax Financial Year-End) Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations Process payroll information accurately and timeously (Salary/Monthly payroll): New employee; terminated employee; amendments Authorise and submit payroll information for timeous payment of staff: Weekly & monthly Resolve payroll queries Responsible to compile/capture and submit statutory requirements timeously: COIDA; ROE; EEA; WSP/ATR; EMP501; BEE; Stats SA; UIF declarations Report on overtime; earnings; absenteeism; leave balances; engagements; terminations Submit month-end reports to Finance Manager Liaise with auditors and SARS for payroll tax audits Prepare reports for weekly, quarterly and yearly reviews (increase; bonus) Training & Development: Assist and ensure training needs and gaps are identified and action plans are put in place in consultation with Line Managers and Group Training Officer Responsible to ensure that WSP/ATR is submitted timeously Monitor training programs and interventions in accordance with skills development projects/objectives: Apprenticeship training programs; Discretionary Grant projects. Ensure Company complies with mandatory training requirements as per customer requirements/audits: Health & Safety; Competence evaluation; Recruitment: Responsible to fill vacancies: Ensure motivations are authorized Advertise vacancies accordingly (internal; external; outsource) Screen CV's Schedule & conduct interviews Arrange psychometric/polygraph tests if required Conduct reference check Draft contract of employment Manage on-board completion of documentation: New employee form; Provident Fund; Medical Aid; Tax; etc. Review contract of employment; Terms & Conditions and amend where necessary Capture new employee details on payroll Conduct/arrange induction training (HACCP; Health & Safety; Policies; Procedures; Disciplinary Rules) Inform & arrange with IT: Computer; e-mail; required programs Termination of Employment: Responsible for termination process and documents (retirement; dismissal; resignation): Provident fund; medical aid; UIF; Certificate of Service Process information on payroll and issue correct documentation Facilitate withdrawal applications and transfer of membership/funds Discipline Manage and maintain discipline, employee behavior and grievances Consult and advise management and staff on labour relations issues Monitor and promote transparency and fairness in workplace Ensure awareness of LRA, BCEA and Employment Act Investigate complaints and initiate appropriate action/charge: Warning; hearing Represent Company at CCMA Manage and monitor absenteeism; excessive out of factory; late comings Employment Equity Responsible for compilation and submission of Employment Equity reports and plan Formulate in conjunction with senior management, an integrated employment equity resourcing plan designed to meet stated equity objectives and projections Present feedback on performance and progress in implementing EE plans, incorporating issues, concerns/trends arising out of discussions Hold employment equity meetings quarterly General Maintain physical files for employees and their documents, attendance, training and all related records. Analyze anomalies and find solutions to address problems Review and amend policies and procedures where necessary Keeping abreast of market trends in HR policy and practices and recommend changes to HR policies, procedures, systems and practices. Maintain contact with Factory-floor officials to keep abreast of concerns and promote sound relations Abilities: Lead and manage a department Attention to detail and analytically driven Adept at managing multiple tasks with precision and a high level of organization and commitment to meeting deadlines Capture information accurately and timeously Skills / Experience: Experience with managing people Experience in manufacturing environment Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English language Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking Strong empathy and interpersonal skills Computer skills: Excel; Work; Payroll-program (ACCSYS Peopleware an advantage) Expected Qualifications: Grade 12 Related qualification 10 Years in Payroll & HR Management Apply Now
