The primary purpose of this role is to ensure ultimate product quality and deliver on our brand promise, by assisting growers and training the harvesting teams on all United Exports technical specifications and protocols, thereby ensuring good quality blueberries are harvested and delivered to Packhouse. Key Performance Outputs Provide training to all Quality Supervisors and picking teams on product quality and United Exports quality specifications. Monitor and ensure correct quality/maturity is being harvested. Assist Farm Managers in picking planning by providing them with quality information from the field. Ensure that United Exports Harvesting protocols are followed. Ensure that hygiene is maintained according to checklists. Ensure compliance and adherence to the industry regulations. Ensure and enforce compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, and practices. Report any findings. Assist Product Quality team members in ensuring the field-packed product is according to United Exports and Customer Quality specifications. Ensure optimum Cold Chain management is maintained. Assist the Product Manager and Agronomy team if and when required with trials and innovations Schedule and manage farm visits, including the In-Field QC’s Collect MRL samples in-field as per the sampling schedule and MRL protocol. Continuously build on client/customer knowledge to assist the commercial team with stock allocation and customer sampling Requirements Education / Experience Senior certificate / Grade 12 / matric. Suitable tertiary qualification. Minimum 2 years of work experience. Functional / Technical Experience Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Technical knowledge of the fruit industry Experience working with Global Gap and Siza Audits Product knowledge – soft fruit category Excellent communication skills; verbal and written. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Building and maintaining good interpersonal relationships. Detail and results orientated. Ability to act with tact and discretion.
