Role Purpose: We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent with extensive experience in financial reporting, particularly in the life insurance sector, to lead strategic initiatives within our Group IFRS Reporting team. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in aligning these projects with our organizational objectives. Requirements: Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent CIMA Minimum of 10 years' post articles experience in financial reporting, including at least 5 years in life insurance Experience presenting at Exco, Audit committee, and Board levels. Proficiency in liaising with key stakeholders such as external audit, internal audit, risk management, BU finance teams, Exco, and Board members In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and risk management principles Familiarity with consolidation principles and JSE rules regarding external reporting requirements (preferred) Expertise in financial statement preparation and understanding of actuarial valuation results in an insurance regulatory environment. Duties & Responsibilities: Internal Process: Project manage the external audit process, ensuring adherence to timelines and effective collaboration between internal teams and external audit. Provide support for risk management and internal audit activities, ensuring effective control operation. Assist in the consolidation process, including cross reviews of consolidation working papers and identifying areas for process improvement. Handle other ad hoc requirements such as engagement with the Sustainability Reporting team and assistance in managing the audit committee process. Client Services: Monitor turnaround times and quality standards to enhance client service delivery. Drive client service delivery goal achievement and manage client query processes effectively. Provide authoritative advice to clients and stakeholders as needed. People: Foster a positive work culture and exemplify leadership behavior that supports organizational values.
