Position Summary The Head of Expense Reporting & Analysis will be responsible for the coordination of budget development and monthly expense reporting & analysis for the Individual Markets business. Success in this position will require timely and insightful analysis of expenses (variances, trends) as well as effective rationalization and communication to a variety of audiences (corporate expense lead, functional business dept. heads, CFO, and Head of Individual Markets). You will: Coordinate development of expense budgets at budget-center, account, and initiative levels (incl. headcount) Coordinate development of product and line-of-business allocations. Provide detailed reconciliations of budget versions (scenario 1 vs. scenario 2). Summarize monthly results (Actual v. Budget v. Prior) at budget, department, and line-of-business levels. Identify and illustrate key variances and drivers (e.g., unit costs, leading indicators) and their significance over the plan horizon (e.g., timing vs. real shift in spend). Maintain and refine various "deeper" expense analytics that are important to long range planning and pricing (expense pricing gap, marginal expense analysis, etc.). Maintain subject-matter-expertise at the functional level to integrate unique elements of expense structures into analysis & forecasts. Maintain subject-matter-expertise of financial systems to fully leverage reporting & analysis capabilities of the systems. Regularly communicate results & insights with business area SMEs and senior business leaders. Lead efforts on special initiatives (e.g., industry expense studies). Lead a small team of highly engaged expense analysts. You are: Resourceful and curious Collaborative and accountable Adept at rationalizing results and iterating with business partners to maximize the potential for insights. Able to communicate nuanced topics to variety of stakeholders in a clear and compelling fashion. You have: 10 years' experience developing and presenting financial results. 5 years' experience with expense reporting & analysis in a sufficiently complex business environment Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Salary Range $126,970.00 - $208,600.00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
