Reference: JHB000246-NC-1 A multinational FMCG company is looking for a Head of Operations to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have experience within the FMCG industry with a background in Engineering. Education: BTech Degree MBA would be beneficial Skills/Experience required: At least 8 – 10 years experience Must have a mechanical background Strong FMCG experience Strong people management skills Strong networking skills Knowledge of statutory requirements and laws Duties Overall responsibility for meeting the Unit's target for operational efficiency i.e. ensuring product availability at the right time, controlling overheads, wastage reduction/ control, and improving manpower productivity and automation. Plans and schedules the preventive maintenance of all manufacturing lines and utilities Evaluates and monitors maintenance records. Ensure minimizing of breakdowns. Identifies and develops vendors for upkeep and repair work of machinery and spare parts. Is responsible for driving initiatives to improve utilization and productivity of manufacturing & packing machines to reduce Responsible for taking initiatives on process instrumentation, and automation to optimize headcount. Responsible for ensuring Quality, Safety, and GMP Best practices and facilitating ISO standards certification Responsible for managing the external environment to ensure complete statutory compliance of the unit. To implement Operating Manuals of Corporate i.e. Accounting/Purchase/HR Responsible for monitoring and controlling cash overheads (Salary & Wages, Stores & spares, power & fuel )/ capital expenses within the approved budgets Responsible for introduction and implementation of New projects for achieving organizational goals Responsible for keeping the team in high morale and ensuring high motivation of employees.
