In additiona, you must have a proven track record of high performance, where experience in call centres and/orlogistics/transport scheduling would be an advantage. The incumbent will be required to perform various tasks inherent to the position such as: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective program and ensure compliance is continual Co-ordinate monthly safety meetings as well as attend internal and external meetings to ensure safety issues are appropriately represented, reported, and communicated Carry out regular plant/site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and followed Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Health & Safety program and ensure compliance is continual Identify safety training needs, organize and co-ordinate safety training courses, and prepare training material where and if appropriate Compile management reports per schedules to corporate and local legislative requirements Planning practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health, safety and safe working practices Assist in the appointment of safety representatives for all departments Liaise with on-site contractors to ensure their compliance with company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including basic safety induction training and filling in indemnity forms Communicate changes in Safety and Environment legislation to management Assist with the formulation of emergency/contingency plans for Natural Disasters, Industrial Action, Political Unrest, Fire, Explosions and Bomb Threats Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary Co-ordinate at least two evacuation exercises per year to ensure that all employees become familiar with these procedures Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards; investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions to report to management Keeping up to date with amendments and changes in legislation where and if applicable Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent Construction Regulations and NOSA, SAMTRAC or equivalent SACPCMP Registration (Advantageous) Minimum of Three years industry related experience Market Related (Salary will be discussed during the interview and relate to current and/or previous experience) Pension Fund Car Allowance Cell Phone Allowance
