Our client, a prominent manufacturing company based in Pinetown, is looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their team. The position's purpose is to manage H&S processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, international standards, and customer expectations. Additionally, the role involves providing relevant statistics and reports on a weekly, monthly, and formal review basis, as well as ensuring compliance across all departments. Candidate Requirements: A completed National Diploma SAMTRAC Certificate is advantageous. 3-5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer within an FMCG environment. Strong technical background. Proficient in Excel and reporting. Strong communication skills. Energetic and highly organized. Knowledgeable and passionate about OSH Act and other SHE legislation. Stable track record. Own transport. Must reside in KZN Responsibilities: Coordinate and participate in all Hazard Analyses conducted Communicate and train staff on risk awareness. Manage contractor H&S requirements. Update legal appointments as required due to structural or leadership changes. Plan and distribute monthly SHE awareness talks. Track evacuation drills. Log all IODs requiring medical treatment with COID and the Department of Labour where relevant. Update IOD graph (DIFR), tracking IOD investigations and follow-up on actions arising from investigations. Initiate annual refresher training for forklift drivers, stackers, and first aiders, updating certificates and licenses on file. Conduct H&S audits across all departments. Track turnaround times for new machine risk assessments. Arrange annual and return-to-work medicals for employees in high-risk areas identified by the HIRA process.
