HR (Human Resources) Officer - Cape Town City Centre

Our client is a well- established international company that specializes in the Aerospace domain.

They are seeking a Human Resources Officer, who needs to be energetic, enthusiastic and proactive in their work manner. The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgment in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organization, and understanding the role which Human Resources plays within a successful business unit.

Job Title: HR Officer

Location: Cape Town- Airport City

Salary: Market related and depending on experience

Closing date: End June 2024

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION:

  • Human Resource Management Diploma or any other related tertiary qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an HR/Recruitment role.
  • Must have technical recruitment experience (e.g. engineering/ aviation)
  • Aviation and/or Engineering industry experience will be advantageous.
  • Valid drivers' licence.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, excel and Word).
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality and excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment and Selection

-Identifying recruitment needs

-Drafting job descriptions/job advertisements.

-Sourcing candidates through various channels.

-Screening and conducting interviews alongside the relevant line managers.

-Reference checks.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork and onboarding presentations.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, offering guidance and support on HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department.
  • Manage HR-related documentation, such as contract of employment and personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and providing guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Support employee relations initiatives and contribute to fostering a positive work culture.
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
