HRD Workplace Coach - Steelpoort

Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Grade 12/ Standard 10 Certificate.
  • Assessors Certificate.
  • Train the Trainer Certificate/ Coach Learners.
  • Code 08 (EB) Drivers License.
  • Advantageous: Certificate Level Training (ODETDP).
  • Advantageous: Accredited MQA Facilitator/ Assessor.

Experience (including but not limited to):
  • 3 5 years extensive practical trackless machine operator experience.
  • 6 months practical Training, facilitation, coaching and presentation experience.


Duties (including but not limited to):
  • Successfully administer, record and transfer the required knowledge, skills, and attitude to a Trackless Mobile Machinery Operator to perform his/her duties at the required set standards in a mining environment. To be developable to facilitate learning. Continuously monitor expiry dates of mine licenses, assist with scheduling of assessments, and assist in the renewal of licenses upon demonstration of learners competence. This includes coaching of new operators, embedding of daily routines, basic fault finding and problem solving on all relevant Trackless Mobile Machinery.
  • Arrange resources, i.e. venue, digital tablets, relevant TMMs, licenses with assistance from others. Perform assigned administrative functions accurately and timeously. Complete attendance registers and reports.
  • Conduct coaching sessions according to the planned Schedule/ instruction, and retraining/ coaching as requested by line management. Facilitate training/ coaching programs in the work place. Follow-up on recently licensed operators and coach were needed. Perform Ad Hoc duties as requested by supervisor. Perform daily PTOs and checks as required. Conduct follow-up training/ coaching.
  • Assist to arrange final theoretical and practical assessments to ensure competence of learners/ coaches.
  • Ensure relevant training/ coaching area and equipment/ machinery is clean at all times. Ensure all coaching resources are stored after use.
  • Ensure health and safety of all learners/ coaches and Learning environment to be fit for purpose. Assume responsibility for effective discipline of learners/ coaches. Ensure effective learning/ coaching takes place by continuously assessing the knowledge, skills and attitude of the learners/ coaches.
  • Coach learner/operator on relevant machine on Surface. Coaching on driving skills. Submit Coaching reports to supervisor for issuing of temporary license.
  • Conduct relevant training/ coaching for final assessment by assessors in the actual workplace, e.g. underground/ plant.
  • Conduct PTOs/ Coaching in the actual workplace to ensure application of learned skills and competencies.
  • Monitor and ensure updating of TMM licenses timeously and accurately. Regularly monitor Electronic Learner Management System to ensure legal compliance.
