The Hub will be responsible for the dispatch, receipt and management of parcels within Takealot & Superbalist. It’s primary objective therefore centres around strict timelines, efficiency and cost effectiveness. This position reports to the General Manager Primary Logistics . Your responsibilities will include: Be responsible for the overall running of the facility and all other secondary roles which flow from this function Ensure operations costs are in line with budget Ensures the on-time delivery of product to/from the distribution centre Responsible for implementation and effective utilization of system(s) which will ensure that all product within the warehouse and/or entering or leaving the warehouse is accurately identified and distributed/delivered timeously Ensure efficient warehousing with timeous movement of product. Extracts data and generates reports which will assist in performance tracking and decision making. Ensure consistent application of Company policies and procedures. Trains and supervise employees to carry out the functions under their control. Implement and maintain health and safety standards Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of the work area and other company standards Identifies value-creation opportunities for the company in the movement and distribution of the product. Works closely with senior management and Human Resources to resolve issues and ensure quality service to our customers. Oversee maintenance, repairs, or replacements for machines. Perform all other duties as assigned. Attributes required: Results driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high performance environment. Must have good attention to details, and be able to manage the big picture and continuous changes in customer requests and deliveries of product. Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis. Good written and oral communication skills. Good understanding of business principles and practices; can effectively manage the materials function with a bottom line result. Qualifications: Matric qualification 8 or more years of related work and knowledge, required Diploma or Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain advantageous
