Our client, a telecommunications specialist, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their team in Midrand . The Senior/HRM will play a crucial role in leading and managing various functions within the HR department, while also partnering closely with the Head of People to drive strategic initiatives. This role reports directly to the Head of People and is responsible for overseeing a team of HR professionals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a positive workplace culture. Strategic HR Leadership and change management: Collaborating with Head of People to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Providing expert guidance on HR matters, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention strategies, and organizational development. Collaborating with various managers and teams to address organizational challenges and implement effective change management solutions. Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and developing a growing team of HR professionals, including an internal recruiter, People Resource Generalist and People Administrator. Delegating tasks effectively, set clear expectations, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high performance and professional growth within the team. Supporting the team members in their respective roles and oversee that responsibilities of all functions are met. Overseing time and attendance of the team. Recruitment Management: Managing and oversee the recruitment workflow, ensuring timely and efficient hiring and in line with internal standards. Collaborating with Operations to brief in recruitment vacancies and address capacity needs. Collaborating with Hiring Managers on setting job requirement Ensuring recruitment activities are in line with budget - obtain approval of role requisitions Operational Oversight: Holding weekly huddles with the team, providing updates on operational matters briefed in by Head of People and prepare relevant documentation to ensure the smooth running of all functions and workflows. Ensuring rhythmic admin tasks are on track by conducting regular meetings with People Administrator and People Resource Generalist. Refining the current onboarding process for new employees and implement the process going forward. Employee Relations and Compliance: Serving as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution while mitigating legal risks. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations and ensure HR policies and practices comply with relevant legislation. Reviewing and approve employment agreements and company-wide communications. Industrial Relations (IR) Expertise: Managing all aspects of industrial relations, including all misconduct and dispute resolution. Assisting line management in carrying out all IR processes. Developing and implementing strategies to promote positive labour relations and minimize potential disruptions. Policy Development and Implementation: Carrying out the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures. Ensuring policies are consistently applied across the organization and aligned with best practices and legal requirements. Payroll and Benefits Administration: Working with the Financial Manager to ensure smooth payroll processing. Managing and oversee the smooth workflow of our benefits administration. Training and Development: Identifying training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Partnering with department heads to implement training initiatives that support organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous learning. Developing and deliver company-wide HR policy and general training. Reporting and Support: Providing regular updates to the Head of People on departmental workflows, project deadlines, and key performance metrics. Collaborating with the Head of People to identify HR data trends and opportunities for improvement. Assisting the Head of People as and when directed, providing support on strategic projects and initiatives briefed in by senior leadership. BCom Human Resources , or related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience , with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Previous management experience leading HR teams. Specialised knowledge and experience in Industrial Relations and employment law. Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with organizational goals. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
