Our client, a company who specialises in perishable logistics, is looking for an Import & Export Freight Forwarding Clerk. Primary Responsibilities Process export and imports from start to finish - ensuring the correct paperwork is in place for shipments and their exporters/importers (including bonded cargo), monitor freight throughout the export process and report to a branch supervisor or manager (preparing documentation for customs clearance / vehicles / airline, including COO's, Phyto's and PPECBs). Liaising with airlines, carriers, handling agents and other freight forwarding companies to obtain all required information for a successful shipment. Receive and review all clearance documents. Screen documents thoroughly for errors before processing. Report all issues relating to documents encountered during the examination process supervisor or directly to the client. Ensuring all necessary inspections are completed. Request payments to the finance department when required for shipments. Ensure all necessary PODs are received, signed, and filed. Tracking updates – with airlines, trucking tracking, etc. Monitoring when shipments are offloaded by airlines. Maintaining warehouse registers. Report and photograph all damaged cargo immediately. Ensure operations staff have photographed and filed all temperatures of cargo upon arrival, as well as departure. Client communication Prepare Voucher of Corrections as and when needed. Visits to SARS/Customs when required. Attend to customer queries and assist or find someone that can assist. Assist with processing and preparing of customer invoices. General data entry into various systems. Assist supervisors with booking customer requests. Experience Minimum of 1 years of experience in road and air freight. Qualification Matric Any qualification in the related field Market related
