Our client that is based in Ottery Cape Town who is a leading ink manufacturing company they are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Industrial Electrician with expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), a valid Red Seal certification, and having served in a recognized apprenticeship, preferably within the South African manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance in industrial settings, and play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of our electrical systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities: 1. PLC Programming and Maintenance: Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems for optimal efficiency. Debug and resolve PLC-related issues to minimize downtime, with a proactive approach towards energy-saving solutions. Maintain updated documentation of PLC programs and configurations, adhering to local and international standards. 2. Electrical Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial electrical systems and equipment. Identify and repair electrical faults, such as wiring, circuits, motors, and control panels. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all electrical work. 3. Red Seal Certification: Utilize your Red Seal certification to validate your skills and expertise in electrical maintenance. Maintain all necessary certifications and stay updated with industry trends and regulations. 4. Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and other departments to address electrical issues promptly. 5. Emergency Response: Provide quick and effective solutions during electrical emergencies, prioritizing safety and minimal production downtime. 6. Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Engage in ongoing training opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in automation, robotics, and renewable energy technologies relevant to ink manufacturing. Qualifications: Valid Red Seal certification as an Electrician. Valid Registration as electrical contractor with an IE number (to approve COC’s) Completed PLC training and certification. Served in a recognized apprenticeship. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with safety protocols, regulations, and best practices. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure.
