Intercape is looking to employ a IR officer at the Human Capital unit at the Pretoria West Office, with travelling to the various offices and Depots as and when required. INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS Ensure adherence to and implementation of the Intercape IR strategy Ensure implementation of sound and fair labour relations practices are followed in line with the IC Group's Disciplinary codes, practices, and procedures. Ensure effective engagement and utilisation of key consultants and stakeholders (e.g., SEESA, CEO, or any others as instructed) within the IC Group. Ensure consistent implementation of the IC Disciplinary Codes throughout the IC Group Implementation of all Union management strategies. Ensure adherence with all relevant legislation, e.g., BCEA, LRA and Bargaining Council Collective agreements (e.g., SARPBAC, NBCRFLI, MIBCO, NECTOI, CCMA), and Sectoral Determinations. Ensure effective relationships are built and maintained with the applicable Bargaining Councils and the respective departments of Labour in the IC Group Ensure effective handling of all Dispute Resolution processes to completion and with minimal cost implications in the IC Group (e.g., SARPBAC, NBCRFLI, MIBCO, CCMA) Ensure the implementation of all negotiated legislative issues, salaries, staff reduction, etc. in all Bargaining Council spheres. Implementation of all labour redeployment & reduction processes e.g., company winding up, retrenchment and possible operations closures in the IC Group. Participation in all Intercape employee representative committees & forums. Support of the IR Manager in the research and compliance audits for the IC Group. Ensure all document retention, filing and record taking of all IR matters and processes are in place and maintained at all times. Conducting regular IR training and coaching with regard to all IR aspects to the IC Group (CORE and Africa-Support where required). Efficiently and effectively investigating, facilitating, and conducting of all Disciplinary Processes in the IC Group. Support IR manager in the Management of the Appeal process Conducting and finalisation of all Grievance processes to completion in the IC Group. Identification and reporting of trends / issues regarding unions, discipline and general IR practices for the IC Group that may come to your attention. Ensure the implementation of all proactive Strike Management plans for the IC Group, in all areas of operation (CORE and AFRICA). Manage subordinates and resources within the IR department Support manager in the generation and compilation of IR reporting for the IC Group Support manager in the generation, compilation, and implementation of Contracts for the IC Group Ensure effective relationships and communication are built and maintained with managers, employee committees & forums, and employees. Ensure accurate and systematic record keeping of disciplinary actions according to company systems, policy, and procedures. Assistance and acting in an advisory capacity to all role players (e.g., controllers, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders) pertaining to disciplinary investigations, procedures, and process completion. Manage the South Africa Disciplinary hearing schedule internally and with the external service providers. Arrange for the retraining of employees with all relevant parties should the need arise because of a disciplinary process. Ensure own and other role players knowledge and a complete understanding of all Intercape's policies, practices, and procedures Attend all Operations Drivers meetings in Pretoria. GENERAL HC & TRAINING INVOLVEMENT Build and maintain effective relationships and communication with the HC Department (HC, IR, Training and Payroll teams). Coordinate, in conjunction with the IR and HC teams, IR initiatives events, trends and issues to the organisation. Provide accurate and timeously input (data) to the HC & Training teams Provide accurate and timeously input (data) and assistance to the payroll department as required. Assist the payroll department in providing accurate and timeous information to the responsible personnel for capturing of employee information on the relevant records system (i.e., Payroll system). INJURY ON DUTY MANAGEMENT Assist HC, where required, in the completion of any IOD documentation/reports in collaboration with relevant department management. HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT Overtime: Assist HC with monitoring staff monthly overtime as per current applicable legislative specifications and budget allocation. Leave: Ensure to load all leave on the internal system as per business requirements and leave policy SYSTEM MANAGEMENT Responsible for the effective utilisation, accurate capturing, and thorough record keeping on all systems relevant to perform daily tasks within department Identify and facilitation of staff training needs applicable to relevant Intercape Systems Log all related information on company system as required by policy. Understand all company systems available and value that can be gained from these. Responsible to ensure that you received training on all relevant systems for department or have provided training to direct reports. Qualifications: Grade 12 Industrial Relations Diploma or higher qualification level. Experience: 2 – 3 years' IR work experience delivering an IR service in a fast pace operational environment (production, manufacturing, FMCG or retail). Experience with unions and CCMA / Bargaining Council will be advantageous. Knowledge / Abilities: Proficient knowledge of the company, its divisions, associates, people, products, terms and conditions, and services Performing general administration Work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines Handling conflict, difficult and stressful situations with professional composure Very good organizational and delegation skills.
