Synopsis An operational role is available at the head office of a medical administration company in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This is a permanent position that reports to the IT department lead and is responsible for the information technology and operations support for head office and remote sites. The individual required has to have good interpersonal and technical skills to troubleshoot system and user issues. Occupational Level : Professional Specialists/ Mid Management Occupational Category : Technicians / Associate Professionals Location : Head Office (Bryanston) Reporting Line : IT department lead Occupation Function : Operational Start Date : Immediately Functions and Duties Assisting office workers with their computer desktop systems Providing computer support services both for software and hardware for an organization’s employees and clients Testing of computers and ensuring that computer systems are functioning properly Physical setting up of computers and software system installation for various computer applications and programs Identifying and solving any problems that affect computer operating systems Individual assessments / audits of computer systems to identify the problem(s) Maintenance of networking systems and maintenance of network servers equipment Maintenance and upgrading of computer systems or offering recommendations on upgrades needed Networking and connecting computers within the same organization to enhance communication Training staff and orienting them on how to use computer hardware and software systems Troubleshooting routine problems and maintenance of servers Responsible for ordering or buying of computer systems that are required. This is after carefully assessing the computer needs in the organization in accordance with the purchasing and creditor’s policy Maintaining other computer peripheral devices such as printers and solving printing problems if they arise Coordination of computer maintenance with other Information technology professionals and other service providers Intranet powered by SharePoint development, maintenance and testing Operations Functions and Duties General operational office maintenance Head Office Remote Sites Manage and maintain PABX, telephony line rentals, premicells and other communication systems Manage and maintain telephone management system and scheduled reports The job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list, and the employee may be required to perform tasks which are not specifically stated but which are to be regarded as incidental to the employee’s job and for which no remuneration shall be payable. Experience & Qualification Skills Required IT Qualification / Certification Experience in first line and remote site support 2 - 3 years working experience Technical Competencies- Knowledge and understanding of the following: Physical IT infrastructure Client / Server applications architecture Internet technologies MS Desktop Operating system MS Office Antivirus and firewall knowledge Experience of mobile devices, mainly but not limited to Apple, Blackberry and Samsung support Knowledge in the use of a call logging tool Working knowledge of remote support tools MS SharePoint support Attributes Ability to work without supervision Good communication skills Initiative Ability to multi task Good at problem solving Customer service Requirements Valid driver’s license Own transport Matric Certificate Market Related Benefits: Medical Aid & Pension Fund
