As Legal Counsel at eQVest, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the legal compliance, risk management, and protection of our company's interests. You will provide expert legal advice and support to our management team and work closely with various departments to navigate complex legal issues in the investment industry. 1. Legal Compliance: Ensure that eQVest's operations, investments, and transactions comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. 2. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents, including investment agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts. 3. Regulatory Affairs: Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and assist in developing and implementing compliance programs to ensure adherence to financial regulations. 4. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive guidance to mitigate and manage them effectively. 5. Litigation Support: Collaborate with external legal counsel, as needed, to handle disputes, legal claims, and litigation matters involving eQVest. 6. Due Diligence: Conduct legal due diligence on potential investments and acquisitions to assess legal risks and ensure compliance. 7. Data Privacy and Security: Oversee data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR and other applicable regulations, to safeguard client and company data. 8. Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining strong corporate governance practices, including board meetings, resolutions, and corporate records. 9. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and enforce company policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and industry best practices. 10. Advisory Services: Provide legal advice, guidance, and training to various departments within the company, such as finance, compliance, and operations. Admitted Attorney Experience in corporate governance, setting up and maintaining trusts. Tax experience Labour Law Experience A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong preference for experience in the investment industry, financial services, or related fields. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, securities laws, and investment-related legal matters. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
