Insights Manager - Cape Town (FMCG) - Westlake

Introduction A distributor specializing in premium alcohol brands is seeking an Insights Manager to join their dynamic team. The vacancy calls for someone who shows collaborative and leadership-based teamwork, who is professional in their approach, and who is inspired through creativity to fill this exiting role. The role is best suited to someone with 5 years in an insights, analytics, research or similar function, who has a proven track record of delivering insights and data-centric workstreams to effect change, answer questions and guide strategic decision making. This is an analytical thinker with a real passion for numbers; someone who enjoys working in a dynamic and growing team, that takes pride in finding new ways to drive growth and change through data and insights. Duties & Responsibilities Excellent broad statistical, analytical and data visualization skills Storytelling through numbers Ability to draw on multiple information sources to unearth the real drivers of growth and performance, and extract value creating and actionable insights Track record of building reports, dashboard and presentations that convey findings and key recommendations Formulating considered recommendations that are grounded in data findings and can guide critical decision making; producing convincing arguments to garner buy-in to findings and recommendations Experienced at building KPIs, and tracking and measuring brand and/or business performance and ROI Project management of key insights projects and workstreams; formulate concise objectives, and deliver against those objectives Analytical and strategic thinker in every task and workstream, to ensure you optimize the outcome, rather than just answer the question asked Experience working with Marketing and Commercial teams to support and advise, as well as drive meaningful insights-centric thinking Good consumer understanding - able to ground thinking in real-life consumer behaviours and trends Experience working with consumer and market research, either through project management and/or involvement in research workstreams, such as consumer and market segmentation, brand tracking, price elasticity, ad testing, and/or other similar research focus areas Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation Experienced at engaging with senior management, and comfortable to challenge and be challenged Sound interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude A team player who can also work independently Strong organizational skills and the ability to scope and drive new areas of work while taking initiative Workflow prioritization Endurance and ability to work under pressure, and in an evolving, fast-paced environment Meticulous attention to detail, with a proactive work ethic Possess the flexibility and learning agility, required to work across a variety of information sources and data visualization platforms A mindset for deadline driven delivery and possesses the dexterity to work within a dynamic environment Qualifications & Experience: BCom or BSc Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent Requirements: 5 years of experience in an Insights, or similar role Beverage alcohol industry experience preferable, FMCG experience at minimum Proficient on a variety of data visualization tools, such as; Tableau, Pyramid, Power BI, Qlik, etc. Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills Apply Now
