Instructional Designer - Johannesburg

Duties:
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of technology related to the LMS software and systems.
  • Effectively manage the LMS including but not limited to functionality, appearance, settings, and usage.
  • Develop relevant policies and procedures to support the utilisation of the LMS in line with other Learning and Development policies and procedures.
  • Provide the relevant analyses and recommendations on solutions for the LMS to deliver, track and measure performance of the LMS.
  • Provide knowledge and train the L&D Administrator on:
  • Effectively manage user access including:
  • Manage the tracking of all learning intervention revisions and maintain an accurate history of all material published on the LMS.
  • Maintain an up to date, relevant and accurate library of learning interventions.
  • Partner with external service provider and internal resources to ensure effective utilisation of the LMS.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for matters which may require support from the service provider.
  • Create and manage end to end learning intervention structure on the LMS.
  • Develop assessments and evaluations in the LMS for all on-line learning interventions.
  • Develop engaging and learner-centric activities and course content that enhances retention and transfer of learning.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to understand learning objectives and requirements.
  • Utilize multimedia elements, interactive features, and assessment tools within the LMS to enhance the online learning experience.
  • Visualise instructional graphics, user interface and final product.
  • Ensure all learning interventions include tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process and transfer of skills.
  • Create and or source relevant supporting material including but not limited to audio, visual simulations, role plays, games etc
  • Ensure content complies with educational standards, copyright regulations, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Remin up to date with emerging trends and best practices in e-learning, content creation, and LMS functionality.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and Facilitators to ensure seamless integration of instructional materials into learning environments.
  • Provide training and support to learners and users on the effective utilisation of the LMS.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of the full functionality of the LMS.
  • Develop Early Morning Training (EMT) sessions for employees using relevant technology e.g. Canva.
  • Review the effectiveness of on-line learning interventions.
  • Monitor and report on training interventions.
  • Conduct surveys to determine the effectiveness and ROI of learning interventions.
  • Conduct research on instructional methods and assessment instruments.
  • Research new on-line content development and facilitation methods.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to all training, learning and development questions or concerns in a timeous and customer orientated manner.
  • Provide accurate and timeous monthly standard and custom reports to the Learning and Development Manager.
  • Report on online training statistics to the Learning and Development Manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in digital marketing, instructional design, communication, human resources, or a related field is required.
  • Course work and or certificates relating to learning management system administration.
  • Proficiency in the utilisation of a Learning Management System, and instructional design software or tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Pro, and Moodle are requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an LMS administrator.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in developing educational content using an LMS.
  • Experience working with e-learning authoring tools and multimedia content design and development is required.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories is required.
  • Understanding of educational technology trends and advancements is required.
  • Sound understanding of instructional design methodologies and pedagogical approaches is required.
  • Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies, such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Pro.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive assessments and activities with the LMS required.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines for online content is required.
