Xcede Java Developer: Overall Job PurposeReporting to the Senior Manager: Development, the role will be responsible for designing and implementing according to functional specification executable source code of high quality, maintainability and efficiency in alignment to the development standards.Responsible to test, fix defects and release Java applications as per the defined architectural and design standard as well as developing data rich applications within a Scrum development framework. Key Accountabilities To engage in technical scoping sessions with a clear mandate of defining and agreeing the technology, design & toolsResponsible for producing working implementation (code) from functional / technical documents like a functional specification.To ensure appropriate use of tools and applications that is in place to support the development process and SDLC.Interacting and maintaining good relationships with business stakeholders (business users, project management resources, testing and training teams)Performance Management - To engage with leadershipTo engage leadership and take initiative around career growth & trainingSoftware Development and TestingDatabase administration & manipulation to create SQL statement, etc.Unit testingIntegration testing of codeDemonstration of knowledge of best practices and project standards for coding Education: MatricB.Comm, B.Eng, BSC Eng, BSC Informatics or related degree/diplomaLinux operating environment is an advantageWeb: HTML, HTML5, XML, CSS is advantageous Experience:Minimum 3 -5 years' experience on Java 7 and JEE ( Servlets, JSP, EJB, REST and SOAP, JPA/Hibernate), JBOSS, MS SQL Server3 - 5 years' working experience with Build tools ie. Maven & ANT2 years working experience using XML, LDAP, Design Tool i.e. XDE, Servlets, Internet development Knowledge and Skills:Good understanding and knowledge of J2EE application server i.e. JBoss & TomcatIn-depth knowledge and use of UMLWorked in a multi-project environmentKnowledge of and exposure to SDLC / Change Control / Release ManagementSolid understanding of versioning software ie.
