A fixed term Internship opportunity exists at Imerys Refractory Minerals SA, Refmin Mine for a Metallurgy Intern. Purpose of the Role: To obtain experiential learning through a structured 24 month programme applicable to the field of Metallurgy. This opportunity will afford a graduate exposure to the working world whilst earning regulated benefits as per the discretionary of the company. Ensure that tasks related to SOPs & checklists are adhered to at all times. Ensure that proper documentation is used, applicable to the task at hand. Assist line manager with major and minor projects to be detailed in objectives and development plan. Compile monthly or quarterly reports as stipulated by the line manager. Ensure adherence to all company health & safety practices and procedures. Focus areas include but are not limited to:Metallurgical investigation, Metallurgical continuous innovation projects, interpretation of results and Metallurgical accounting from ROM to final product. Degree or Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering. Proof of Residence. Minimum basic level competency in excel, word & powerpoint. Strong verbal and written English communication. No previous internship contract/ experience. Historically disadvantaged South African. Unendorsed driver's licence.
