Internal Auditor - Cape Town City Centre
Exciting new role exists within a financial services team with a global market reach for an Internal Auditor. Great growth potential. This role will initially support the ERM framework project being deployed in the business with growth to other areas such as Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk in the future. This role will support the project with the focus of enhancing current risk management and embedding best practices across functions and departments. This role is well suited to someone with risk and internal controls experience, and will focus on business process mapping, process documentation and controls identification as the first phase of this project initially. Really exciting opportunity for a junior internal auditor looking for a good career opportunity and international exposure. Responsibilities:
- Review existing documentation related to procedures, process flows and operating models
- Map documentation to activities as performed by the departments and identify any gaps or enhancements
- Work closely with the project lead to prioritise remediation of any gaps
- Support management and teams document procedures, operating models and process flows
- In the next phases, the project will cover testing plans and scripts to focus on key controls and procedural steps, testing the plans and supporting any corrective actions
Requirements:
- Minimum of a completed degree in internal audit / commerce/ banking or finance
- Must have previous experience in internal audit and process analysis
- Ability to travel within SA and outside as required - have your passport ready!
- Strong preference for experience within financial services
- Experience in an audit function either internal or external audit
- Previous experience documenting procedures and process flow diagrams
- Six-sigma certification would be an added plus
- Experience with MS Visio or SmartDraw ideal
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong stakeholder engagement
- Must have strong integrity and rigour
- Ability to work well towards deadlines
- High attention to detail
