Finance/Accounting Durban – KwaZulu Natal INTERNAL AUDITOR RETAIL Our client in the Retail industry has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Auditor to join their team. Purpose Prepare and maintain Internal Control Framework with initial focus on inventory management and control Risk management – Ensure that risk is assessed and understood across the business. Reduce losses in store due to stock loss, cash theft and other forms of loss to a minimum. Key Performance Areas (including but not limited to): Stock Control and Auditing. Monitor weekly hanger counts and react to increased loss areas. Ensure stores are counted at least 2 times per year and as required in line with risks identified. Ensure actions are taken once stock losses have been identified. Capacitate and manage the stock counting function. Ensure stock takes are completed efficiently. Maintain stock take equipment. Reduce losses from shrinkage – shortages on deliveries, stock losses in stores, banking losses, break in’s and theft. Evaluating the effectiveness of risk management strategies and practices. Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes. Good knowledge of business internal controls and systems. Good knowledge of corporate governance principles and policies. Good knowledge of relevant policies and procedures. Good understanding of core business principles. Understanding of the Retail environment is beneficial. Qualifications and Experience Stock control practices (incl Inventory Counts) Worked in retail environment. Experience in a finance/stock control role – at least 3 years.
