International Merchandise Planner (mrp) - Durban

This is a new role within Mr Price, requiring someone who has good planning experience across departments and who is willing to take ownership of this new portfolio in planning the sales for International territories, understanding their different customer requirements, geographical and lead time requirements.

You are a big picture thinker and consider various variables to guide your decision making. Your understanding of your customer, product and the competition will play a critical role in guiding you in developing strategic plans, which will ultimately translate into merchandise sales plans. You will strategically manage stock within your portfolio and produce accurate figures for analysis.

You will also be responsible for developing the correct assortment profile, managing exclusions and prohibited items in the planning of the assortment for the International markets. You will also be expected to analyse how past merchandise assortments have performed across the various stores and also analyse the current market and customer profile. You will use this information to inform your assortment requirement decisions. You will also be required to manage the country markdowns and will give strategic input into local pricing matrix. Besides the possible initial travel requirement to understand the environment and customer, this is a full time Durban Support Centre based position

Requirements

As a good fit for this fast paced environment, you will need the following:

  • 2-3 years planning experience within a retail environment.
  • Ability to liaise with all pillars within the business ie Marketing, Logistics, VM, Buying, Planning and Finance.
  • A relevant understanding of all Apparel departments
  • Some knowledge of product would be advantageous
  • A relevant post matric qualification will be an advantage (B.Com Degree or Retail Diploma)
  • Analytical, conceptual, creative, flexible and detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills having the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and proven negotiating and decision making ability.
  • Fully computer literate
  • Advanced Level understanding of planning systems.
  • Exceptional Administrative Skills
