Our client in the security industry is urgently looking to employ an experienced Investigator at their organization Our client in the security industry is urgently looking to employ an experienced Investigator at their organization Location: Witbank, Mpumalanga Job Description: To plan, implement, co-ordinate, control and maintain a professional investigation service to safeguard, investigate the theft of, and recover assets and information of the company and its clients. Requirements: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF level 4). PSiRA registered, minimum grade C. Any further education in policing / investigations will be highly beneficial. Experience in non-ferrous metal theft investigations will be a massive advantage Five (5) years private investigations experience. Valid code 8 drivers license Responsibilities: Functional outputs and activities will include, but are not limited to: Maintenance and inspections: Communicate security needs and problems to senior management. Supervise shifts rosters, off days, leave taken, etc. for all security guards, and Assistant Investigators, to ensure all operations runs smoothly – completed and updated on a daily basis to include court dates, training needs, leave and whatever deployment requirements may come up. Do regular site inspections (daily) and ensure to cover all the vulnerable areas. Ensure all security officers and supervisors are disciplined. Ensure all assistant investigators are performing their duties. Crime Risk analysis and Crime Prevention: Formulate relevant preventative measures to ensure a downward trend in criminal activities. Develop and foster an interactive relationship with internal and external crime affiliated third parties and law enforcement agencies to combat and minimise criminal activities. Gather and analyse information to identify possible crime related trends – relevant information to be relayed to investigators so as to be able to task various teams where to work. Do extensive and proactive research into the core reasons for relevant criminal activities. Make recommendations to fight criminal activities. Crime Investigation: Plan and implement investigation techniques which complied with legal requirements and the policies and procedures of Combined Private Investigations identify hotspots where technology can be used to aid and assist us/ground teams to prevent identify crimes. Conduct investigations in a professional and effective manner. Go to crime sites and gather information and evidence. Identify suspects / syndicates out of current investigations / information. Identify the modus operandi of suspects / syndicates as well as the vehicles that they use in their actions. Identify the buyers (scrap yards) where the suspects / syndicates sell the stolen property / material. Liaise with law enforcement agencies to verify and validate information. Investigators attending the incident / crime scene shall immediately make a full report to the director / operations manager. Investigators shall update the director / operations manager on a continuous basis of all noteworthy incidents. Do follow up investigations through means of informants and further information received. Ensure that the compiled docket is handed over to the docket carrier. Arrests and Convictions: Arrest syndicates that are responsible for theft in area. Ensure high conviction rate. Ensure that all witnesses go through their statements before testifying so that it is fresh in their minds. Go through the court procedure and ensure that the witnesses know when to say what. Ensure that the witnesses remember the detail of the scene. Ask the legal team to assist where necessary. Take them to another court case for preparation so that they feel comfortable with the process. Make sure you are prepared for court and know all details of the case. Follow up on information to trace wanted accused persons in co-operation with the SAPS as and when required Incidents: After making an arrest open a case at the police station. Book in all evidence and suspects if any. Inform area / operations manager immediately of an Incident as soon as it occurs. Ensure area / operations manager is kept up to date with the progress on reports. A case control register and dockets will be issued to each investigative unit of CPI. The investigator will be responsible for the daily entries in the control register. Reports: Daily Report: The investigator that attended the crime scene should submit a daily report of the activities the previous night, this is the morning reports. Note: When a crime was committed the person responsible will submit a report in memorandum format. Weekly report: It is also the responsibility of the person who compiles the daily report to submit a weekly report on the status of criminal activities and other related incidents pertinent to his / her area every Monday morning – Weekly planning sent to the manager A progress report must also be handed in – Follow up of previous work submitted to the manager Armoury Manager: Ensure that his own Competency is valid and up to date – Five yearly Ensure all employees under his command are in possession of Valid Competency Certificate - issued by SAPS Ensure ALL employees in possession of Business Firearms did indeed underwent training in use of firearm for Business Purposes Report ALL shooting incidents/loss of firearms etc to Head Office via e-mail to Leroy Robertson immediately Issue firearm permits to competent employees in accordance of the Firearm Control Act 60 / 2000 – per time frame Arrange Firearm Training for Personal & Business Purposes with Human Resource Management – Yearly Ensure all employees under his control attend Reg 21 Firearm Refresher Trainings – Yearly Arrange Firearm Safe inspections by Firearm Officers at local SAPS - Yearly Arrange that all firearms under his/ her control are serviced on a regular basis – Yearly Informed Head Office if he/ she is not available for a period to ensure that a temporary Armory Manager be appointed by - HQ Perform firearm and ammunition Inspections as per ISO 9001:2015 – Monthly Desired Skills: Crime Investigations Private Investigations Policing Nonferrous metals experience Apply Now
