IT Administrator - South Africa

An American-based claims company is looking for a dedicated and experienced IT professional with strong SQL knowledge and troubleshooting skills to join their dynamic team as an IT Administrator! They are looking for someone who understands servers, workstations, and peripheral devices and has a knack for problem-solving. This role involves managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for our call center supporting English and Spanish customers. While the position is primarily during regular business hours, you must be available 24/7 to tackle any IT challenges that may arise. (this is US hours)

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management

Write and understand SQL queries for effective database management and troubleshooting.

Perform routine maintenance, backups, and recovery for databases.

System Administration

Oversee and maintain servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.

Configure and troubleshoot Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Internet Information Services (IIS).

Network Management

Manage network protocols, subnetting, routing, and firewalls.

Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.

IP PBX Management

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IP PBX systems.

Manage extensions, call routing, voicemail, auto-attendants, and other PBX features.

Ensure the security and reliability of the PBX system.

Technical Support

Provide 24/7 technical support to ensure uninterrupted IT services.

Quickly troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

Programming and Development

Utilize ASP programming knowledge to support web-based applications.

Manage FTP servers for file transfers and secure data exchange.

Backup and Recovery

Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity.

Develop and execute disaster recovery plans.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Language Skills

Fluent in English.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Skills

Proficient in writing and understanding SQL queries.

Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.

In-depth knowledge of network protocols, subnetting, routing, and firewalls.

Experience with backups and recovery processes.

Familiarity with ASP programming.

Knowledge of FTP protocols and server management.

Availability

Ability to provide support 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
