IT Network Engineer - Bryanston
A large hospitality / leisure company seeks the expertize of a Senior Network Engineer to manage and maintain the Group’s MS-based server & network infrastructure in its totality both onsite and for the resorts (off-site) Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the organization's Microsoft-based server and network infrastructure. Work with the IT Manager to develop strategic plans for the future of the company's IT infrastructure, including the design and implementation of new systems and technologies. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high levels of availability and security. Implement and maintain security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Lead the design and implementation of new IT projects and system upgrades. Provide third-level support for IT helpdesk, troubleshooting complex technical issues. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, servers, and systems. Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Participate in the selection and deployment of new hardware and software. Conduct training sessions to improve the IT skills of staff and keep them informed about new IT developments. There are also responsibilities such as CCTV, Generator Checks and Physical Security items like access tags. Qualifications : MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) / equivalent qual, Matric Must be / have : Above average IT Knowledge (hardware software) Min of 2 yrs exp in the IT field Willing / able to – if need be – work (sleep over) resorts nationwide Additional requirements: Detailed network understanding Assembling new hardware systems Experience in Active directories Experience in Exchange Experience in Office365 Experience in DomainsDNS Experience in Firewalls Experience in VM’s Shared resources Setup of VM Support of VM Experience in Backup procedures and software Cloud based backups Disaster Recovery procedures BackupRestores Experience in System and Network documentation Experience in WIFI Installation / setup Troubleshooting Experience in SQL databased administration Experience in Networks Switch config and routing Fibre Installation Network Cable installation Troubleshooting Experience in CCTV Security Cameras and Installation Soft skills Strong communications skills.
