Your primary focus will be on ensuring seamless connectivity, high availability, and optimal performance of the network systems across all branches Nationally. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address networking issues, support business applications, and contribute to the overall success of the IT operations. CRITICAL OUTPUTS: 1. Network Design and Architecture: Design and implement scalable and reliable network solutions to meet current and future business requirements. Analyse and assess the organisation's network needs and propose improvements to enhance performance and security. Stay up to date with emerging networking technologies and recommend their integration when appropriate. 2. Network Deployment and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points. Deploy and manage network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS. Monitor network performance and proactively address any bottlenecks or issues. 3. Network Security: Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls. Monitor and respond to security incidents and conduct periodic security assessments and vulnerability scans. Work closely with the team to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. 4. Network Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems. Provide timely support and troubleshooting for network-related incidents and outages. Collaborate with the team to resolve complex technical problems. 5. Network Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize network performance holdups to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. Conduct periodic performance analysis and implement necessary changes to improve network performance. 6. Network Monitoring and Documentation: Implement network monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve network issues. Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. 7. Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to obtain necessary network equipment, services, and support. Manage vendor relationships and ensure service-level agreements are met. REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network) are a plus 7 - 10 year's experience in IT Valid driver's license Applicants must be willing to undergo a criminal and credit check Valid driver's license Residing on the East Rand Monday – Friday – 2 days at the office, 3 days from home.
