Main job function
IT Sales Professional
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing sales strategy.
Meeting sales targets.
Generating revenue through sales with healthy profit margins.
Consulting with IT specialists and management on product offerings.
Establishing and maintaining good and healthy long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and other strategic partners.
Identifying marketing opportunities and developing sales leads.
Assessing potential clients' IT needs and recommending products.
Preparing and delivering sales pitches and product demonstrations.
Negotiating sales and service renewal contracts, as well as discounts and warranties.
Initiating after-sales technical support based on client requirements and feedback.
Tracking sales targets and documenting sales performance metrics.
Ensuring competitiveness by analysing and researching industry trends.
Compiling lists of prospective client businesses using trade directories and other sources
Acquiring and updating knowledge of employer's and competitors' goods and services, and market conditions.
Visiting regular and prospective client businesses to establish and act on selling opportunities.
Assessing customers' needs and explaining the goods and services which meet their needs.
Promoting employers' ICT goods and services to existing and prospective clients.
Quoting and negotiating prices and credit terms.
Completing contracts and recording sales.
Arranging delivery of goods, installation of equipment and the provision of services.
Reporting to management on sales made and the marketability of the companys goods and services.
Following up with clients to ensure satisfaction.
Preparing sales reports and maintaining and submitting records of business expenses incurred.

Keeping informed on technical product specifications and functionalities

An appropriate qualification in marketing.
A qualification in IT would be an advantage.
3+ years experience in an IT sales environment.
Advanced knowledge of marketing and sales strategies.
Ability to explain and demonstrate IT product specifications and functionalities.
Advanced proficiency in IT industry terminology and jargon.
Ability to liaise with management and IT developers about sales strategies.
Exceptional ability in negotiating sales deals, contracts, and service agreements.
Ability to evaluate client feedback and provide after-sales service.
In-depth knowledge of consumer behaviour, as well as industry trends and innovation.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written

Own reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
