This position requires a variety of specialised skills and applied patience. The candidate, however, is required to support multiple, different, and forever changing environments. Communication (both verbally and written) needs to be excellent, empathy, and the ability to manage expectations effectively are sought after characteristics. This function is 'fast paced' and often measured on the ability of an individual to work within a growing team of varied skill sets. A successful candidate will be well versed in the O365 Microsoft suite, however in transition of Technology a fair knowledge of Third-party applications. Manage in house software ORV/LMS An Understanding of Basic SQL and application of DB concepts and best practices. Proficiency with TSQL. Assisting with the installation of Hardware (Label Printers and scales) as required. Assisting with User training, guidance, and support to resolve issues. Supporting the roll-out of new applications. Level 1 Support. Maintaining Ticket SLA. Testing and provide feedback of new system enhancements. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Maintaining Master Data. Working Stand-by afterhours and weekends Matric or NQF equivalent Degree/ Diploma/ Certification in Information Technology or related studies preferable. 1– 3 years working experience in IT helpdesk environment. SQL Knowledge. Exposure to a logistics/retail working environment would be an advantage. Knowledge of remote software (RDP, TeamViewer etc.) Ability to follow predefined procedures and escalate timeously to the Security Manager where required. Ability to meet deadlines and complete daily tasks within SLA timeframes Ability to use knowledge base resources to resolve problem. Driver's license and own car Fluent verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Customer service orientated. Strong team player, with the ability to work independently. Consistent, prompt delivery of often common or repetitive tasks Respect the importance of confidentiality. Ability to manage End User frustrations effectively, and exercise the patience needed to communicate to End Users who may often be unhappy (without face-to-face interaction) Excellent attention to detail Quickly able to learn, leverage and incorporate new technology and methodologies on own initiative.
