Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled IT Systems Specialist with expertise in back-end web development to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating our e-commerce platform, ensuring seamless integration with inventory management systems, and supporting the overall IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for keeping their online store updated with accurate stock information and ensuring smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Back-End Web Development:

Develop, maintain, and optimise server-side components of their

e-commerce platform.

Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Implement security and data protection measures.
Troubleshoot and resolve back-end issues and bugs.

Inventory Management Integration:

Integrate the website with inventory management systems to ensure real-time updates of stock levels.
Develop and maintain APIs for data exchange between systems.
Monitor and update product listings, prices, and stock availability.

Database Management:

Design, manage, and optimise databases to support the website and inventory systems.
Ensure data integrity and security.
Perform regular database backups and recovery.

System Maintenance and Updates:

Keep the e-commerce platform updated with the latest software and security patches.
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability.
Monitor server performance and respond to any issues.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless user experience.
Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Assist with other IT-related tasks and projects as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

Proven experience as a Back-End Developer, IT Systems Specialist, or similar role.
Experience in the e-commerce sector, particularly in clothing and branding, is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in back-end programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, or Node.js.
Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
Familiarity with web server technologies (e.g., Apache, Nginx).
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
