Junior Accountant - Pretoria
Position: Junior Accountant (Fixed-term Contract) Location: Lynwood, Pretoria Reporting to: Financial Controller Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to become a valuable part of our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, enhance your skills, and contribute to the financial success of our organisation. As a Junior -Accountant, youll be an integral part of our finance department, supporting the senior accounting team and playing a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records. Key Responsibilities: Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations to align financial records with bank statements. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, including bookkeeping tasks such as processing invoices, vendor payments, and customer payments. Assist with preparing monthly management accounts, Process monthly journal entries E.g., Payroll, accruals etc. Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation, including Intercompany accounts. Assisting Financial Controller with month end closure. Support the Financial Controller in the external audit process. Qualification and Experience Requirements: Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent. Minimum 2 years experience in similar roles. Ability to create logical and thorough financial reports. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Xero. MS Excel Advanced (Non-negotiable) Skills and Attributes Requirements: Unwavering attention to detail. Analytical skills and ability to handle complex financial data. Strong mathematical and calculative ability Ability to create logical and thorough financial reports. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Effectively interpret analysis performed and decipher information. Exceptional understanding of Financial Statements. High pressure tolerance. Deadline driven. Adaptability to fast-moving and high-performance environment.
