Junior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mpumalanga, Kruger Park - South Africa

Job Brief. Our client, a state-owned national parks management entity, is seeking the services of a Junior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their Air Services department, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft in accordance with national safety regulations. Collaborating with other mechanics, electricians and engineers, your main responsibilities will involve performing regular system inspections, maintain systems and equipment, use gauges and diagnostic tests to detect malfunctions, repair or replace broken aircraft parts, perform troubleshooting, keep maintenance and repair logs, use power and hand tools (e.g. cranes, grinders), understand and apply guidelines from manuals and blueprints, ensure compliance with safety regulations. To excel in this role, you should possess exceptional manual dexterity and stamina. Hands-on experience with complex equipment is essential. Ensure strict compliance with approved maintenance procedures, executing tasks accurately, efficiently, and within specified timelines to maintain aircraft airworthiness standards. Identify, diagnose, and resolve maintenance issues. Make sound and timely decisions related to aircraft maintenance tasks, considering safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations and procedures. Perform inspections, assess maintenance needs, troubleshoot, and verify the completion of tasks to maintain the integrity and safety of aircraft systems and uphold the highest quality standards. Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring proper sequencing, resource allocation, and efficient utilisation of time and manpower to minimise aircraft downtime. Collaborate with team members, technicians, and other stakeholders to achieve shared maintenance goals and objectives. Communicate technical information, observations, and findings to colleagues and relevant stakeholders for efficient coordination and decision making. Communicate critical and maintenance-related information to aircrew members, conveying technical details and task progress in a clear and concise manner, and foster open communication channels. Assist in maintaining up to date maintenance records in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational guidelines. Data entry, record keeping and documentation must be accurate and precise. Maintenance-related documents, both physical and digital must facilitate easy retrieval, proper storage, and confidentiality. Prioritise safety in all maintenance operations; adhere to safety regulations, and actively promote a safety culture among the maintenance team and aircrew members. Demonstrate an understanding of potential risks involved in aircraft maintenance operations and remain vigilant in identifying and assessing risks. Assist senior personnel in implementing risk mitigation strategies, following established protocols, and taking appropriate actions to address identified risks. Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and stay updated with industry advancements. Requirements & Skills. Key Qualifications and Experience: Valid SACAA AME TYPE License Driver's License Code 08 5 years of qualification as a SACAA AME 3 - 5 years of SACAA logged experience with AS350 type as AME Should have tracking experience.
