Our client in the Financial industry is currently looking for a Junior Analyst , in Claremont, Cape Town Conducting global macroeconomic research for the portfolio manager and CAM team. Building models to forecast US, European, and Chinese GDP and inflation. Input into portfolio manager and team's decision-making frameworks. Building valuation models at the asset class level for various asset classes. Collaborating with portfolio manager on daily portfolio management activities on multi-asset funds/portfolios and global equity fund of funds. Reporting and presenting to various parties and forums. Analyse the global economic landscape and financial markets to highlight risks and opportunities Continuous monitoring, critical assessment & forecasting of macro-economic and geo-political variables/developments to provide input into the portfolio managers and the house's macro-economic assumptions that are used in CAM's various asset valuation models. Continuous monitoring and critical assessment of financial markets to highlight risks and opportunities to the portfolio manager, and wider CAM team. This would, for example, include the building of valuation models at the asset class level, for example, for the following asset classes: SA bonds, US bonds, SA equity, US equity, EM equity etc. Assist the portfolio manager with portfolio management tasks and responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Assist with daily cash-flow management for various funds and portfolios. Regular updating of various spreadsheets etc. used by the portfolio manager. Assist with analysis of peers' asset allocation exposures. Reporting and queries/questions (including, but not limited to): Assist with regular reporting & presentations to various stakeholders: the CAM CIO, the business, the CAM team, the Advice team, clients etc. etc. Administration (including, but not limited to): Provide commentaries for MDDs and information sheets which are done every month. Take minutes at meetings (the junior members of the CAM team each have responsibility for minute-taking for at least one meeting per quarter) Respond to advisors/clients' queries and questions etc. Other admin-related tasks 4 – 5 years of working experience within the role. BCom, Hons Degree (or similar) in Economics and/or Econometrics (preferably) or Investments/Finance and with CFA level 1(one) already passed. Minimum 18 – 24 months experience in economic/econometric analysis (preferably)/investments and asset management. Microsoft Office, with a specific requirement for strong Excel skills (v-lookups, formulas, regression analysis, basic coding etc.) LSEG DataStream/Bloomberg knowledge would be an advantage. R360 000 – R560 000 per annum
