Modderfontein, Gauteng · Restaurant/Food Service Junior Buyer (JB4199) Modderfontein, Gauteng R16 500 to R18 500 a month CTC Permanent Our Client who has a steadfast commitment to supplying the South African market, who diligently source and manufacture premium cake décor, is looking for a dedicated and professional Junior Buyer to join their team. They strive to offer their customers only the finest cake décor available. Supported by an extensive sales network, their dedicated team stands ready to provide comprehensive assistance and support to meet their clients needs Minimum Requirements: Diploma or Higher certificate in supply chain management 2 – 3 year’s experience in a buying position. Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to international buying Advanced Excel (not negotiable) Problem solver with strong negotiation skills (not negotiable) Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Must be able to work quickly and as part of a team Position will suit an analytical person with a passion for figures and someone who is willing to go the extra mile Duties and Responsibilities: Research, select and negotiate prices on quality products and materials in line with company policies Monthly (and adhoc) stock takes to confirm purchasing quantities Calculating orders for stock (both local and International) and submit orders to Purchasing Manager for approval Upon order approval, place import orders timeously with overseas suppliers to ensure that stock is received by required date Obtain the necessary information for logistics and freight of import orders – weight, volume, type of packaging and communicate with freight and logistics companies Communicate collection dates on import orders with freight forwarding and clearing agents and follow up regularly on updates. Communicate expected delivery dates with Purchasing Manager Place approved orders for local suppliers on electronic stock system Build relationships with South African suppliers and ensure timeous delivery of orders Follow up regularly on outstanding orders to ensure smooth operations at company Required to assist with annual stock taking Regular updates of electronic inventory records and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels Update pricing information on electronic system and raise variances with Purchasing Manager Process GRN’s on system Raise stock exceptions with Purchasing Manager and suppliers. Follow up with suppliers until resolution Update costing spreadsheets in Excel after international orders are received Regular research of industry and keeping updated with developments within the industry General administrative functions, and other adhoc duties Kontak Recruitment Disclaimer: Equal opportunity: All backgrounds are welcomed, with no bias.
