Junior Category Leader /Junior Supply Chain Manager - Port Elizabeth

Requirements:
  • At least three years procurement experience in a major company and/or public sector business.
  • Experience in category management, moving successfully and quickly between direct and indirect product and service categories.
  • A successful history of interacting with senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong history of savings delivery.
  • Any successful candidate must be able to develop within the company, broadening their category experience.
  • Keen commercial business sense.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Positive and initiative-taking attitude, confident in taking personal initiative.
  • Good negotiation skills and natural persuasion.
  • Understanding of supply chain and procurement practices.
  • Enjoyment of networking and meeting new people.
  • Ability to develop a robust client pipeline.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
  • Interact with key stakeholders and analyse data to create category management approaches that deliver against both client and companys needs and expectations.
  • Advise and agree with clients on the procurement strategy for high-spend categories.
  • Deliver measurable savings through direct category management, including undertaking tenders, negotiations, and auctions on behalf of clients.
  • Provide the enquiry, insight and creative thought needed to deliver a step change in supply chain performance.
  • Influence stakeholders (clients and suppliers) to secure agreement to proposed solutions.
  • Use of leading-edge tools, processes, and creative thinking to design solutions which deliver rapid cost savings and improvements in performance.
  • Sourcing suppliers from SA and Worldwide to meet clients needs.
  • Deliver projects within agreed timescales.
  • Consistently be an ambassador for the Companys brand.
Other Duties:
  • Take time out to complete training or learn from other team members to deliver your Personal Development Plan.
  • Support and balance non-fee-earning in-house projects with the delivery of commercially critical projects.
  • Identify contacts or leads within existing or target organisations.
  • Take time to support and develop other team members.
