Junior Lab Analyst, 6 month contract, East London - East London
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- ND analytical Chemistry or equivalent
- Must have food manufacturing industry experience
- Knowledge of relevant food safety requirements will be an added advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- IT literate in Microsoft applications.
- Inputting of accurate information into electronic platforms (PowerBI, Entecom)
- Conducting analysis (chemical and microbiological analysis as per SOPS
- Calibration of instruments when on duty
- Conduct tasks as required by QAC to ensure compliance with BRC standards
- Junior Analyst must ensure that his/her workspace is kept neat and tidy in accordance with the 5S principles
- Performing routine microbiological testing (Yeasts & Moulds, TPC, Coliforms and TAB) on product and CIP water.
- Assisting with environmental monitoring.
- Performing advanced testing using NIR spectrometry, HPLC and UV/VIS spectrophotometry (Chlorophyll, lactic acid and ethanol).
- Perform more routine product testing when required (Brix, acid, color and pulp etc.)
Salary: R7500.00 per month
