The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Research and Development team by conducting trials and research that focuses on fruit quality, grower and sales performance with a specific focus on post-harvest development. Key Performance Outputs Trials and Research Manage trials specific to post-harvest quality focus. Develop and follow trial protocols. Ensure accurate data collection for all trials, associated research or projects. Conduct quality evaluations for all trials and projects. Present trials to growers and wider business. Attend meetings, symposiums and conferences as required. Investigate and research different avenues on previous trials. Product Quality Post-season analysis of quality issues working with direct team members and additional teams to find key reasons for success and failure amongst the grower base. Develop plans and avenues of investigation into product quality improvement accuracy. Assisting the product quality team with ad-hoc project implementation. Requirements Education/Experience Post Graduate diploma/degree in Agriculture (Quality/ Disease management/ Horticulture/ Plant Pathology). Minimum 2 years of work experience in the fruit industry. Functional/Technical Horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production functions, specifically blueberries. Strong computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in research and development environment, working with large data sets, analyzing and interpreting. Understanding of post-harvest fruit quality processes.
