Key Account Manager - Johannesburg

Our client is seeking a Key Account Manager who will be responsible for managing and developing key accounts within the organisation, ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales growth, and achieving business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent relationship management skills, a deep understanding of the FMCG market, and the ability to drive revenue through effective account management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.

  • Conduct regular account reviews and update clients on new products, promotions, and business opportunities.

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for growth within key accounts and develop strategies to capitalize on them.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and support.

  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve any issues affecting key accounts promptly.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts to ensure mutual benefit.

  • Monitor contract compliance and manage renewals and extensions as needed.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales within the FMCG industry.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing key accounts.

  • Strong understanding of the FMCG market and consumer behaviour in South Africa.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
