Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Key Account Manager that has arisen in BBF Safety Group in Western Cape . The Key Account Manager will report to the Senior Key Account Manager and will have amongst others, the following duties and responsibilities: New Business Development – 70%: End User Distributor: Ensure the allocated sales budget is achieved each month. Analyze sales vs budget. Responsible for marketing products while ensuring that a high standard of professionalism and service is provided. Liaise with direct manager ensuring product quality, market sector and product development information is relayed and recorded. Market and Trade Intelligence – 3%: Drive growth through developing existing distributors and identifying opportunities in new markets and sectors. Report on competitor's activity as well as market trends and new business opportunities. Conduct proper customer research through appropriate data sources e.g. annual reports, quarterly reports, internal publications, brochures, newsletters. Ensure superior product knowledge to deal with authority on technical aspects. Provide input into product development. Customer Development and Services – 20%: Manage customer development to achieve positive growth by developing/fostering a strategic business partnership and mutually beneficial long-term business strategies. Pro-actively understand how our customers do business. Find ways to contribute to their business strategies. Recommend strategic-solutions to improve the way we do business where possible. Review customer performance vs market potential. Analyze customer profiles and profitability and give feedback to customer. Ensure that the client base is visited as per management agreed call cycle. Ensure healthy customer relationships with the true decision-makers and affiliated staff. Understand customers' business, its culture, financial position, competitive environment and future direction. Sort out and follow up on customers' operation issues and distribution needs and continuously strive to improve on the level of service. Resolve any customer queries/ pricing problems and proactively manage customer expectations. Provide and record all pipeline future business knowledge Monitor logistics pertaining to all factory faults and claims received from customers. Differentiate oneself from his/her competition by his/her professionalism, credibility and business ethics. Promotional Activities – 2%: Liaise with direct Management and Marketing Department regarding new product launches, plan and control promotional activity. Set up and control all demo's, displays and ensure that stock availability is achieved at all times. Support special events/road shows with stock and promotional material when required. Organize community involvement programs, fund-raisers etc. Suggestions to Management welcome. Sales Operations Administration – 5%: Complete all administration tasks as set out by management ensuring deadlines are met timeously. Control operational costs and expenditure within allowed / stipulated parameters. Implement, monitor and advise customers of current pricing parameters. Matric/Grade 12 Degree/Diploma: Sales, Marketing or Business Management 3-6 years' experience as a Key Account Manager in a similar environment. Sales Experience in Personnel Protective Equipment will be advantageous. Computer Literate - MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent communication and presentation skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent active listening skills. Extensive, accurate product knowledge. Negotiating and problem-solving skills Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally. Understanding of consumer behaviours and industry trends. Apply Now
