Â
Contractual Strategy and Management
·       Develop, agree and manage a robust strategy and annual plans for the contract, to meet the contractual requirements, as well as operational and financial business targets
·       Ensure the contract is optimally structured, managed and populated to increase operational efficiency
·       Focus on future direction of the contract, to include implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the customer relationship to enable the success of future longevity of the contract
·       Ensure a best practice framework is in place for the delivery of the contract, using processes, procedures and systems aligned to the company quality policy
·       Conduct regular reviews of processes, procedures, plans, monitoring and taking action to ensure business targets are met, including submitting accurate and timely reports
·       SLA Management, compliance & governance
·       Performance reporting to the Client

Business Development
·       Develop strong market knowledge of existing and potential clients, and keep AFMS informed of business growth opportunities aligned to strategic objectives
·       Provide in-depth analysis of markets, industry trends, competitors and clients to improve strategic planning and decision making
·       Develop and implement relationship strategies to maximise opportunities for securing new business
·       Identify new / future services that would provide AFMS with a competitive advantage or profitability.
·       Develop tender documents at a consistently high standard Â

Strategic Technical Leadership
·       Work closely with and support executive management to set vision, strategic roadmap and business plan, establishing key objectives and deliverables, with well-structured plans for efficient and lean allocation of technological resources.
·       Provide strategic evaluation of the technologies and the synergies that those technologies could generate within the company, ensuring that sustainability and innovation are embedded into both.
·       Determine how potential stage technology innovations would be industrialised and commercialised within the Company
·       Define and implement effective organisational and operational structures to deliver technical objectives, and establish strategic technical direction and culture
·       Develop and maintain links with external professional bodies and standards organisations

Monitoring and Assessing Technologies for various Projects
·       Serve as advisor to senior executives to identify, assess, and investigate high-risk, high-return technologies possessing potential application within existing businesses or for creating new business
·       Monitoring new technologies and assessing their potential be become new products of services
·       Overseeing the selection of research projects to insure they have the potential to add value to the business
·       Design and implement relevant procedures and work instructions and systems of control to comply with the relevant technical service requirements

Growth, Tenders, Budgets, Profitability and Cost Control
·       Act as Technical Consultant expert translating technical expertise into terms that can be marketed (real customer advantages superior to those in competition)
·       Develop and maintain a successful business partnership with the client
·       Manage all aspects of partner interactions with the client.
·       Identify value added opportunities and make proposals or presentations to the client
·       Develop, implement and maintain best practice for client services.
·       Check, manage and monitor compliance of the SLA.
·       Develop an effective, customer based, proactive relationship at all levels with the client.
·       Set, sign off and agree budgets with management and finance
·       Ensure profitability
·       Manage, control and ensure cost containment
·       Reporting and analysing of financial position

Manage Technical maintenance and product development
·       Oversee and manage all technical maintenance requirements and implementation thereof, and ensure Technical Managers, their direct subordinates and contractors timeous execution of maintenance.
·       Provide technical vision to all reporting staff to complement the business vision, setting the tone and direction for the company technologies.
·       Ensure policies and practices are constructed to attain the right placement of technical staff and oversee compliance thereof
·       Establish formal and informal networks to implement the policies and to insure they are aligned throughout the company business units, as conduits through with corporate vision and direction can be communicated

Manage staff performance
·       Oversee and manage the allocation of duties to all subordinates via formal job descriptions and structured task allocation
·       Manage and oversee Technical Managers performance via the formal performance management system, and ensure their compliance to the performance management process for their direct reports
·       Ensure all subordinates are fully conversant with governing standards and compliance with requirements.
·       Oversee and provide advice, guidance and technical support to subordinates to enhance development and create learning opportunities to improve performance
·       Mentor and train staff in technical and behavioural competencies
·       Oversee and ensure effective disciplinary and grievance management, in order to maintain a positive working environment and enhance performance.

Contract Management
·       Oversee and manage all administrative elements of the contract
·       Managing contract risk
·       Managing the contracts and implementation
·       Controlling budgets, costs and revenue, and driving profitability
·       Legislative compliance
·       Quality Management ISO9001 compliance for Technical Division
·       Ensure proper procurement in line with Company policy
·       Promoting and complying with BEE requirements of the Company
·       Setting up proper contracts and SLA’s and managing Company risk
·       Manage and control procurement and expenditure

Manage CAFM System within Technical Environment
·       Advise as to the best method in setting up and tailoring to project needs
·       Allocate users that will be in place in order to effectively use the system
·       Monitor, manage and control inputs and outputs
·       Developing needs and outputs specific to services and implementing
Â
Administration
·       Design and implement administrative standards in Procurement, Accounts and CAFM
·       Ensure implementation of quality management systems
Â
Health and Safety Compliance
·       Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety Standards.
·       Implement Contractor Health and Safety Management system with staff and sub-contractors. (Management System attached)
Â
Quality
·       Implementation of the quality management system and continually improving its effectiveness
·       Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance
·       Ensuring the quality objectives are established and met
·       Conducting management reviews
·       Ensuring the availability of resources for availability compliance
Â
Key Skills and Experience

  • Grade 12
  • PR Eng or BTech in one of the technical disciplines (must be registered)
  • Min 5 - 10 years technical experience in Facilities management environment
  • Enhanced knowledge of:
  • Air conditioning Maintenance
  • Electrical Maintenance and procedures
  • Equipment and machinery
    • OHSA codes and Health and Safety Procedures
    • ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 18001
    • Technical drawing
  • Computer literate
  • Good understanding of Labour Relations Act and HR policies and procedures
  • Good understanding of BBEEE requirements
