Job Title: Kidswear Fashion DesignerLocation: Cape Town, South AfricaIndustry: RetailRPO Recruitment's client are looking for a talented and creative Kidswear Fashion Designer to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for children's fashion, with a keen eye for trends and a knack for creating unique and stylish designs that appeal to children and their parents.Responsibilities:Design and develop seasonal kidswear collections that are on-trend, age-appropriate, and reflect the brand's aestheticResearch current fashion trends, color palettes, and fabric options to create innovative and marketable designsCollaborate with the design team to develop original prints and graphics for kidswear garmentsCreate technical specifications, including sketches, CAD drawings, and tech packs, for production purposesWork closely with the merchandising and production teams to ensure timely delivery of samples and finished productsAttend trade shows, fashion events, and market appointments to stay informed on industry trends and competitor offeringsProvide input on pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, and promotional activities for kidswear productsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of experience in kidswear design, preferably within the retail industryProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and PhotoshopStrong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fittingExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlinesKnowledge of children's sizing, fit preferences, and comfort requirementsFamiliarity with sustainable and ethical fashion practices is a plusRPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
