Setting up and calibrating laser cutting machines, including adjusting settings such as power, speed, and focal length. Loading and unloading steel materials onto the cutting bed of the laser machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning. Monitoring the cutting process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality of cuts, making adjustments as needed. Inspecting finished pieces for quality control, including checking dimensions, angles, and surface finish. Maintaining equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning lenses and replacing worn parts. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing minor repairs as necessary. Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others. Communicating with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks. Documenting production activities, including recording materials used, production times, and any issues encountered during the cutting process. A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Previous experience operating laser cutting machines, especially those used for cutting steel, is highly desirable.
