A leading supplier of materials and solutions into the basic services sector in southern Africa, PPC has 11 cement factories in South Africa, Botswana, DRC, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Zimbabwe. PPC's capacity is around eleven and a half million tonnes of cement products each year. PPC's Materials business comprises of Pronto Readymix (including Ulula Ash) and 3Q Mahuma Concrete. • Compliant with Group regulatory universe and tracking (in collaboration with Internal Audit). • Compliant with Group compliance universe and tracking (in collaboration with Internal Audit). • Up to date central repository of all Group policies (version control, ensuring relevance) in line with DoA. • Agreed actions/initiatives delivered within cost, timeline, and quality expectations. • Accurate and timely reporting. • Ad hoc legal opinions (verbal and written). • Implemented compliance risk management initiatives as set out in the compliance risk management plan including. • Monitor, analyse and communicate with the responsible persons at a group and business unit level of any new legislation as well as any changes. • Up to date compliance risk profiles across the Group. • Competent end users across the Group to assess their compliance risks in line with the PPC Group Risk methodology and risk appetite models. • Assist Group Functions to analyse legislation, regulations, standards and policies to develop compliance risk management plans. • Developed and implemented compliance risk monitoring plans and the monitoring thereof in line with compliance monitoring plan. • Monthly reports on the status and results of compliance risk monitoring. • Maintained and up to date non-compliance register (Compliance Breaches) by discussing non-compliances with Group Functions and monitoring the implementation of management actions to address the non-compliances • Propose action plans to address compliance related audit findings and ensure that Implementation take place within the set timeline • Identified, proposed and implemented ideas for compliance awareness programs. • Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for all compliance initiatives documentation. • Compliant with all relevant legislation. • Agreed projects and initiatives delivered within agreed timelines. • Degree in Commercial Law, B.Com Law or equivalent • 10 years legal and compliance management experience within mining/manufacturing environment • Knowledge of legal and compliance in a listed company is a requirement • Compliance auditing experience would be beneficial • Demonstrable evidence of having worked in a role requiring extensive and continuous interaction with various internal and external stakeholders in delivery of objectives • Strong strategic management experience across various portfolio's (legal and compliance within a mining/manufacturing environment) Special requirements : • Demonstrable evidence of having worked in a role requiring extensive and continuous interaction with various internal and external stakeholders in delivery of objectives • Strong strategic management experience across various portfolio's (legal and compliance within a mining/manufacturing environment) • Corporate governance (King code) and compliance • Data security • Stock exchange fundamentals • Cement / mining industry • Corporate Governance Principles, relevant Codes and Legislation, particularly the Companies Act and King IV • Corporate governance (King code) and compliance. • Data security • Stock exchange fundamentals
