Lead Software Engineer As a Lead Software Engineer, required to lead the technical aspects of large application implementation. This can include smaller-scale projects, and/or components of large-scale projects. Provide Technical expertise to internal Guardian Front End cloud-based portals. This includes leading the design and full life cycle for various systems enhancements. Working with offshore Guardian team to ensure projects are completed on-time and on budget. Provide project oversight where needed which includes project plans, risk/issue reports, IT governance tasks for the project assigned. Work with the business analyst, technical analyst and solution architects to ensure requirements are captured and accurately reflect the business need. Work collaborative with other IT areas toward the common goal of delivering a quality product that meets the project timelines and business needs. You Will: Design, develop and deploy large scale cloud-based backend systems. Work as part of a scrum team to implement business requirements in a timely, performance-centric and maintainable manner. Collaborate with Technical Teams, Technical Managers, Solution architects, Project Managers, and subject matter experts to understand, plan, design, document technical design and implement solutions. Evaluate business requirements from a technical standpoint and able to provide time and cost estimates. Support installation of new or modified systems, providing post-implementation support Ensure compliance with security, privacy, legal, infrastructure, and administrative/corporate processes and policies. Ensure project success by reviewing timelines, estimates, dependencies, and requirements documents while providing feedback. Partner with stakeholders, educating, negotiating, and influencing them on implementation options and risks. Act independently and as part of a team to translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed applications. Learn and adhere to Gurdian SDLC processes. Research and develop new insights, solutions, and improvements. Assist in resolving performance bottlenecks. Use the latest technology tools for development which may include AI for development. Some travel between Hub offices Collaborate with Offshore Team which includes: Collaboration with offshore developers and offshore managers Daily progress and workflow reporting Technical issue resolution Supporting installation of new or modified systems, providing post-implementation support Mentoring and guiding junior developers Work stream responsibilities: be responsible for architecture and technical decisions made in designated work streams, prepare design documentation. review and approve functional and non-functional development and build implementation guidelines for developers. support developers during implementation by explaining design principles and details and solving design and implementation issues. participate in code reviews. provides scope estimations for assigned work streams. Communication: present high-level and low-level design to relevant partners report potential risks and dependencies to the project lead architect and delivery managers. participate in architectural discussions and lead such discussions on the architectural level internally, and, upon request, with the customer and partner teams. work with vendor product management and engineering departments to align project implementation design and architecture for compatibility with future versions and to minimize potential upgrade effort. contribute to the knowledge sharing platform. You Have: 8 years of professional experience as a software developer with a greater focus on backend architecture A deep knowledge of modern web frameworks and web architecture best practices and patterns Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, JavaScript (Es6), REST, NOSQL, Node Proficiency in SQL, database management Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and current on REACT. Knowledge of UI, LESS, SCSS, HTML responsive design, e.g. CSS grid, flexbox, media queries Knowledge of Responsive design using Material design, Bootstrap or equivalent Knowledge of web libraries, frameworks and exited to learn. Experience with building system using CI, CD, GIT, Jenkins, and Dev tools like eclipse, VScode, etc Strong sense of web design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience. Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques. Proven capability in designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software. Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset Experience with CI/CD and GIT, Jenkins or similar Experience with SOAP, REST APIs and REST API best practices Experience in debugging technical issues by looking at application logs along with in-depth debugging skills on different browsers. Familiarity in AWS CloudWatch and Splunk Familiarity with Safe Agile process and planning, Jira, Confluence etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Visio or other designing tools. Group insurance experience considered. Clear written and verbal communication skills BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent Location & Travel: Hybrid - 2 Days a week in one of our offices in New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, PA office. Salary Range $114,080.00 - $187,415.00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
