AFDA is seeking applications for the position of discipline lecturer in editing. We are looking for a committed individual with industry experience to lecture and support undergraduate and honours students. Roles and responsibilities: Acquire and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the motion picture programme. Develop lesson plans and lecture content. Deliver lectures and conduct consultations. Manage discipline students and ensure all assignments are marked and submitted on time. Participate in quality assurance and marketing activities. Key competencies: Adaptability to AFDA’s curriculum and values. Collaboration with teaching staff. Excellent time management and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to research independently and manage budgets. Personal attributes: Loyalty and confidentiality. Maturity and honesty. Initiative and thoroughness. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Willingness to support student development. Selection criteria: Minimum requirement: honours degree. Tertiary education work experience. Industry knowledge in film/television. Preference given to candidates from designated groups per Employment Equity Act.
