The candidate will be expected to contribute to research and provide post-graduate supervision JOB DESCRIPTION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching and learning for contact and distance learning students in the subject Afrikaans (Text- and Sociolinguistics). Personal Research, Innovation and/or Creative Output. Social Responsiveness and Industry Involvement. Programme development. Teaching practice assessments. Higher Degree Supervision. Administration and other activities. A Master of Arts/Master of Education inAfrikaans Linguistics and Methodology.(NQF level 9) A Professional teaching qualification in Afrikaans language education. (NQF level 7 A minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience in Primary or Secondary school. Added Advantage Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE). Functional / Technical Competencies (Knowledge and Skills) Competency in linguistics and methodology. ICT competence and research expertise. Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU. Key Behavioural Competencies Critical thinking skills, the ability to handle conflict and the ability to function creatively and innovatively. The ability to function within a team. REMUNERATION The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
