Lecturer Senior Lecturer School Leadership Education - South Africa

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To teach School Leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • To supervise post graduate students in the field of School Leadership and Education.
  • To publish and lead research in the field of School Leadership and Education.
  • To participate in Community Engagement projects.
  • To engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Teaching.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Facilitate learning, teaching, and assessment processes in the Faculty.
  • Engage in scholarly work with an increased focus on the Africanisation and Decolonization of School Leadership and Leadership theories.
  • Lead research within the Faculty, in the field of School Leadership within the context of Education.
  • Engage in postgraduate supervision in the field of School Leadership within the context of Education.
  • Participate in and contribute to Community Engagement in the Faculty/Institution.
  • Participate in Faculty Administration.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to facilitate learning, teaching and assessment processes in the field of School Leadership in the Faculty.
  • Facilitate the teaching of School Leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A sound knowledge of assessment strategies within the digital space as it relates to the field of School Leadership and Education.
  • Ability to teach School Leadership to a diverse group of students.
  • Ability to assess undergraduate students for School Based Learning.
  • Ability to conduct scholarly work with an increased focus on Africanization and Decolonization of School Leadership within the Education context.
  • Supervision of postgraduate students to completion.
  • Ability to work and effectively engage in interdisciplinary discourse.
  • Facilitate and engage in curriculum development initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Ability to work on Moodle.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A relevant PhD or Masters degree in Education Leadership or equivalent.
  • Experience (1-5 years) in the teaching of School Leadership at a University level.
  • Sound disciplinary and content knowledge in School Leadership and Education.
  • A proven record of:
  • Experience in supervising M&D students to completion.
  • Research productivity in and around the field of Education and School Leadership.
