Job Title: Legal CounselLocation: Cape Town, Western Cape Position Type: Full-time, In-houseSummary:Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join their team. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our company on a variety of legal matters. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, contract negotiation, and compliance.Responsibilities:Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, contract negotiation, compliance, and regulatory mattersDraft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documentsAssist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and proceduresConduct legal research and keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may impact the companyManage and coordinate external legal counsel as neededCollaborate with other departments to ensure legal compliance and mitigate legal risksRepresent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and meetings with external partiesStay informed about industry best practices and legal trendsRequirements:LLB degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the state bar and in good standingMinimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal departmentStrong knowledge of corporate law, contract negotiation, and complianceExcellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAbility to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersThis position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
